Vaughan's emerging signature park, North Maple Regional Park will include 365 hectares (900 acres) of parkland for residents and visitors
to enjoy.
People and Place has been an innovative force in the development of NMRP. First engaged at the Grand Opening to signal the unique vision for the emerging park and later engaged to work closely with the Parks Development team to establish the park’s identity.
Early projects included developing the vision for the park and a series of interpretive installations to pilot messaging and imagery to develop the park’s identity.
Recent work includes leading the design of the “heart of the park”, the new Pondside District in the park that includes a major nature playground that features innovative water play, two pavilions, a skate trail and a pondside trail and boardwalk.
Our team is developing the signage, wayfinding and interpretive strategy for both the existing and soon to be constructed phases. Map development for the park has also resulted in the development, naming and illustration of park districts and amenities. Together, these are shaping the core identity of this emerging 900-acre park.
